ABOUT US
Welcome to The Creamery, an authentic Irish Bar & Restaurant perfectly positioned on Bunratty Fair Green, right beside the famous Bunratty Castle. This historic building dates back to the early 19th century and is steeped in local heritage.
In 1823, Charles Bianconi launched a stagecoach service connecting Limerick, Ennis, and Bunratty, and this very building served as a scheduled stop, with the ground floor used to stable horses. Later, in 1927, it became the local creamery, operating until 1999 when it was transformed by the Fitzpatrick Brothers into the welcoming bar and restaurant it is today—hence the name, The Creamery.
Upstairs, known by locals as “upstairs at the Creamery,” the restaurant nestles under the eaves of the old building. The exposed walls and beams combined with beautiful vintage chandeliers create a warm and cosy atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing meal.
In the bar, many original milk churns, donated by local farmers and each engraved, add a meaningful connection to the area’s farming heritage. You can settle in beside the open turf fire while taking in the character of the space. Vintage photographs line the walls, capturing the history of the creamery, the Bunratty area, and the local community.
Friendly and attentive staff are always ready to welcome you, making The Creamery a true local gem where history, hospitality, and great food come together.
